Career Background

Currently, I’m a Player Support Shift Lead at Keywords Studios. Before moving into this role, I spent about 10 months as a Player Support Agent, helping players with their concerns, working closely with the team, and consistently hitting productivity and quality goals. I also have experience as a Webtoon Designer at Latis Global Communications, where I handled designing and formatting webtoons based on client specs, including dialogue and sound effects.

Instead of pursuing the career path I had been studying from high school through college, I chose to follow my passion for webtoons. I wanted to work in a field connected to my interests—something that made me genuinely excited.

Back in college, I joined nonprofit fan-translation groups to gain experience. It turned out to be one of the best decisions I made. I was working on stories I actually loved reading, editing webcomics I was already a fan of, and contributing to localization projects shared with people who enjoyed the same things as I did.

When I graduated, I was incredibly lucky. Latis Global opened its doors to new professional typesetters, and I didn’t hesitate to apply.

I still remember how relaxed the interview felt and how confident I was during the assessment. I did my best, and my soon-to-be manager even asked how I approached the task because it was different from their usual process.

Under his guidance, I learned so much. I was trained to deliver better quality, and the feedback he gave me was so valuable that I still keep a copy of it saved on my personal computer to this day.

But life had other plans. Just a month before I was supposed to become a regular employee—and right after finally meeting my team face-to-face at our Christmas party—our client canceled the project, and our entire department was dissolved two months later.

This job will always be my first love. I never thought I could love a job this much, but I did. It’s the kind of “first love” you think about from time to time—something that makes you smile at the memory yet feel a little sad because it ended too soon.

To Latis Global, thank you. I’m truly grateful for the chance to be part of the Philippine branch, even for a while. It gave me more than just a salary—it let me do something I loved, surrounded by people who loved it just as much.
